One of the most iconic photographs in Banff National Park is that of Victoria Glacier reflecting in the turquoise waters of Lake Louise.
We have been to this spot countless times and the scene never ceases to amaze the senses. This painting was inspired by a spot a little off the beaten path. A bit further down from the lake there is a small bridge that crosses Louise creek. After a day of cross-country skiing around the lake, and apres-ski hot chocolate we stopped for one last look. The sun was setting and trying to break through the clouds that had shrouded the glacier for most of the day. Small rays of light could be seen reflecting in the creek creating a subtle sparkle of light. The monochromatic evening scene emoted such a sense of calm that we had to capture the moment.
